ABOUT IMR<\/h3>

International Medical Relief (IMR) was founded in 2002 on the belief that knowledge of basic health facts and access to healthcare should be accessible by as many people as possible.<\/p>

Through mobile medical clinics guided by experienced leaders and hosted by community officials in more than 80 countries around the world, IMR provides free health and dental care services, sustainable community health education, training and partnership initiatives, and disaster response.<\/p>

Throughout this medical mission, you and your team will care for residents of small villages and indigenous tribal communities in the Arusha region of Tanzania, which is the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro and national parks popular for spotting wildlife. Healthcare options are limited in rural Tanzania, and, as a result, you\u2019ll care for patients with treatable, and often preventable, conditions. Teaching basic topics such as proper handwashing goes a long way toward helping villagers stay healthy.<\/p>

Basing out of Cusco at an elevation of 11,150 feet, you will spend a week providing medical care to small, indigenous Quechuan communities surrounding the city and in the Sacred Valley, an area where traditional medicine dominates. You\u2019ll have the opportunity to learn about the botanicals used by local healers. The Quechua people work hard farming the land and will come to clinic suffering from back pain, infections, and malnutrition.<\/p>

The Cappadocia region in central Turkey is famous for its fairytale scenery, cave dwellings, remarkable rock formations, and hundreds of hot air balloons that take to the sky during sunrise each morning. It\u2019s also home to miles of world-class hiking, biking, and ATV trails that are yours to explore after clinic or on your free day.<\/p>

On this mission trip, the IMR team will partner with local medical professionals to serve migrant and seasonal agricultural workers and their families.
